Position Overview
The School of Information at Florida State University seeks to fill one nine‑month tenure‑track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.
Responsibilities- Teach courses at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels of the school’s degree programs, including online and face‑to‑face instruction.
- Conduct research and publish scholarship in innovative subject areas such as AI literacy, computational thinking, digital humanities, museum informatics, and community engagement.
- Generate and pursue external funding opportunities that align with the School’s interdisciplinary research program.
- Advising students, serving on School, College, and University committees, and maintaining active involvement in professional and academic organizations.
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in information science, information technology, or a cognate field.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Ability to articulate a research agenda that aligns with the broader research interests of the School of Information.
- Experience conducting research and teaching in innovative subject areas such as AI literacy, computational thinking, digital humanities, museum informatics, community engagement, and related fields.
- Preferred experience teaching online and face‑to‑face courses.
