The Department of Mathematics and Systems Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.

Candidates are expected to develop a research program in the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence and data science, including areas such as:

• Probability
• Statistical learning theory
• Theoretical aspects of AI and machine learning

• Ph.D. in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field (required).
• Preference for candidates with a track record or potential to establish a strong, externally funded research program.
• Ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Commitment to departmental, college, and university service.

• The department is part of the College of Engineering and Science, Florida Tech’s largest college.
• Offers undergraduate and graduate degrees including B.S. in Applied Mathematics, M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, STEM Education, and Systems Engineering.
• Faculty maintain active, externally funded research programs, collaborate across disciplines, and build partnerships with industry.

• Emphasis on innovative pedagogy, student engagement, and transformative educational experiences.
