Basic Qualifications

  • Willing to travel to and live in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands for a multi‑year assignment.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
  • Advanced working knowledge of computer‑based maintenance for digital processing systems/subsystems utilizing Linux, Microsoft, and/or other operating systems.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification and demonstrated networking experience, such as configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and implementing identity and access management controls.
  • Must have an Interim Secret DoD security clearance prior to starting this position. Obtaining a security clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
Job Description

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems Business Area seeks an experienced System Administrator to support the Space Fence radar operations site located at Sensor Site (SS) 1 on Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands. This is an expatriate role.

Key responsibilities include performing mission operations, computer maintenance and reconfiguration on the Digital Processing Group and Mission Subsystem, managing communications equipment, network administration, information assurance, and data recording/data management. Additional duties involve cross‑training with radar technicians to maintain array equipment, supporting critical radar corrective maintenance actions, assisting in vendor service arrangements, coordinating logistics for required supplies and repair parts, supporting all trades, responding to emergency maintenance requests, validating technical maintenance work packages, and providing onsite training for customer support personnel.

Successful candidates will provide continuous engineering services support at the Space Fence radar sensor site, maintain effective customer communications and relations, and work within a small, highly motivated, 24/7 professional team. Most positions will be unaccompanied. The position is contingent on customer approval and funding.

Additional Skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing electronic communication equipment.
  • Familiarity with space operations and/or radar operations in a civilian/military environment.
  • System administration experience with Linux (Red Hat) and Windows Active Directory.
  • Facility maintenance activities, electronic controls, electrical, IT and computer hardware a plus.
