Description

The ideal candidate will oversee safe and proper manufacturing of the company's products. In order to do this, the candidate will troubleshoot issues and coordinate a team of production employees to make sure that consistent and quality goods are constantly being produced.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production workers, including training new employees and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Schedule work assignments and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production targets.
  • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Inspect and monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on products and processes to ensure they meet company standards and specifications.
  • Address quality issues promptly and work with the quality control team to resolve them.
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Manage production workflows and adjust schedules as needed to meet changing demands and minimize downtime.
  • Enforce safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct safety training and inspections, and address any safety hazards or violations.
  • Ensure that production equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports, including performance metrics, inventory levels, and incident reports.
  • Promote a positive work environment through effective communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
  • Facilitate team meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and updates.
  • Drive performance metrics: OEE, QA, Safety, Scrap Rate, and other measurable metrics.
  • Report to work at the scheduled time, work as scheduled and be seldom absent from work.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in leadership principles and human resources management.
  • Strong understanding of operational procedures and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and feedback.
  • Proven ability in problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management, organizational effectiveness, and team building.
  • Adaptable to changing production needs and effective in managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking abilities for strategic decision-making.
  • Capable of fostering a positive work environment through empathy and emotional intelligence.
  • Capacity to evaluate complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues, analyze options, and make informed decisions.
  • Willingness and ability to work a 12 hour shift schedule with evening/weekend work.
  • Technical knowledge of plastics and raw materials preferred. Extrusion sheet line experience preferred.
  • Education:

    High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Forklift Certification
  • CPR certification or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and ability to use company vehicle for company business.

Responsibilities note:
The Production Supervisor will lead and manage a team of production workers, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards. They will also troubleshoot issues and implement improvements to enhance productivity.
