North Port Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand new 144-bed acute hospital serving adolescents 13-17, adults 18+, and seniors 55+ with mental health concerns and co-occurring substance use disorders. We are currently seeking a PRN/Weekends, Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our skilled and patient-focused team.

For the role, responsible for the provision of medical services to patients within scope of license. Conduct complete physicals and provide education, referrals and follow-up. Medical management of patients at all levels of care provided by the clinic. May prescribe medications as allowed by state regulation.

• Makes a comprehensive physical assessment of patients consistent with training and education
• Performs physical examinations on patients admitted for medication maintenance
• Ensures physician medication orders are followed; refers patients to appropriate physicians and consults with the supervising physician
• Evaluates patient care, adjusts the plan of care based on outcomes, diagnostic results, and patient feedback
• Provides patient and staff education on medication maintenance
• Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF Standards, and clinic policy and procedure
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program
• Previous experience in behavioral health facility/clinic preferred
• No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment

• Licensed to practice in the state in which the clinic operates
• DEA license
