North Providence Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Grade 6 Math and Science teacher to join our team at Ricci Middle School.

This position is a union position within the North Providence Federation of Teachers Local 920, American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO. Compensation for this role is paid in accordance with the salary schedule found on page 4 of the Local 920 Collective Bargaining Agreement (linked here), with the specific step placement determined by your years of relevant experience.

• Candidates must be certified in at least one of the following areas:

  • Elementary Education Teacher, Gr. K-6
  • Middle Grades Mathematics Teacher, Gr. 5-8
  • Middle Grades Science Teacher, Gr. 5-8

  Applicants who do not hold an Elementary Education Teacher, Gr. K-6 certification and are certified for only Middle Grades Mathematics Teacher, Gr. 5-8 or Middle Grades Science Teacher, Gr. 5-8, must agree to pursue the other Middle Grades certification.

  Preference will be given to candidates who hold or can demonstrate progress towards an English as a Second Language certification issued by the Rhode Island Department of Education.

  Preference will be given to applicants who meet the Awareness or Proficiency requirement per the RI Right to Read Act | (FAQ RI Right to Read Act).
