This role supports the Electro-Mechanical Strategic Sourcing team by executing Request for Quotation (RFQ) activities for components with lower financial impact. The position operates within defined financial thresholds, managing vendor quote collection and analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate with Strategic Sourcing Managers and support initiatives to improve cost visibility and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute RFQ processes for lower financial impact components across categories such as Motors, Sensors, and Industrial Automation.
- Manage vendor quote collection, consolidation, and analysis for assigned components.
- Escalate quotation results that surpass defined cost thresholds to the appropriate category manager for approval.
- Support price variation analysis by comparing new quotes against standard costs from the ERP system.
- Define and track KPIs for RFQ cycle time, quote accuracy, and vendor response rates to identify process bottlenecks.
- Assist in the implementation of a future vendor collaboration RFQ tool integrated with PLM and ERP systems.
- Support a Finance governance initiative to provide cost visibility within the PLM change management process.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
Experience:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in supply chain operations, procurement, or sourcing within a manufacturing or engineering environment. This includes experience executing RFQ processes and managing vendor quote collection and analysis.
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis, is required. Familiarity with ERP systems, procurement workflows, PLM or engineering change management processes (ECO/MCO), and cost analysis methodologies is also necessary. The role requires communication skills sufficient for interfacing with global suppliers and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vendor collaboration tools such as SAP ARIBA, Coupa, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing supply chains, such as consumer electronics, industrial automation, or robotics.
- Familiarity with Agile PLM or Teamcenter, including an understanding of BOM structures and part lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of the electro-mechanical component market, including sensors, motors, actuators, pneumatics, or electrical panels.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies applied to procurement.
- Experience with data systems integration projects connecting procurement tools with PLM and ERP platforms.
