Join Amazon Robotics onsite in North Reading, MA as a Senior Product Designer. You'll help shape digital and physical experiences across screen tools, hardware interfaces, and floor workflows to improve technician throughput and uptime. The role offers a competitive salary range of USD 137,800 to 186,400 per year, plus comprehensive benefits and a culture that values safety, hands-on field learning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Design across the digital-physical spectrum, including screen-based diagnostic tools, hardware interface panels, and spatial way finding.
  • Define interaction models for complex data-rich interfaces that work well with gloved hands.
  • Consider senses beyond the screen by integrating visual, auditory, and haptic feedback in environments where a display may not be primary.
  • Create scalable mechanisms and reusable design patterns to amplify team impact across multiple robotics programs.
  • Map end-to-end service journeys that account for body posture, environment, tool-in-hand constraints, and transitions between digital interfaces and physical tasks.
  • Lead UX research with product partners on the warehouse floor through contextual inquiry, technician shadowing, and observations of how the physical environment shapes digital interactions.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, software engineering, product management, industrial design, and operations to align touchpoints across physical and digital touchpoints.
  • Mentor junior designers and elevate UX maturity across the organization.
  • Advocate for end users by bringing field insights into roadmap and prioritization discussions.
  • Synthesize quantitative operational data with qualitative field insights to inform design priorities and trade-offs.
  • Produce written and visual artifacts that influence product roadmaps and senior leadership decisions.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of design experience
  • Available online portfolio
  • Experience with field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design
  • Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers
  • Experience leading design, build, and deployment of complex and reliable software solutions in production
  • Experience contributing to architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience in development in the last 3 years
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction or UX Design, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and defining UX strategy in innovation problem spaces
  • Strong portfolio showing design across digital interfaces and physical or environmental touchpoints, or a clear understanding of how digital products exist within physical contexts
  • Proficiency in modern design and supporting AI tools (Figma, Figma-Make, Kiro, or similar)
