Job Description

The J. Turner Hood Elementary School is seeking Elementary Grade Level Classroom Teachers to start in school year . North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.

Grade level is open to K-5 as final  staffing assignments are being made with active staff. Applicants should indicate their preference in a cover letter.

North Reading Public School Educators first contractual day is September 1, 2026. New educators are required to attend the two day new staff orientation on dates still to be determined.

Essential duties
  • Unit/lesson planning
  • Direct instruction of students
  • Assessment of student learning
  • Be available to conference with parents/guardians and families as needed or requested
  • Collaborate with grade level and content teams to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained
  • Other duties as requested by the Building Principal and/or Designee
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Elementary, grades 1-6
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative working demeanor
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
