North Reading Public Schools has an anticipated opening for multiple part-time Early Literacy Tutors expected to be in the Summer of 2026. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.

In this role you will tutor rising first and second grade students for an hour per day (2-3 groups per day), three (3) days per week, Tuesday through Thursday, from August 11, 2026 through August 20, 2026. This position is an in-person, temporary, summer position.

Essential duties

* Provide early literacy tutoring services to identified students

* Use data to drive instruction

* Write goal/progress reports

* Progress monitor

* Communicate with parents/guardians/families as needed

Requirements

* Bachelors Degree

* Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in Elementary, grades 1-6 and/or Early Childhood, grades PreK-2

* Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement

* Proficiency with Fundations & Heggerty programs

* Cultural sensitivity and interest in working with a diverse student population

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

* Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
