The J. Turner Hood Elementary School is seeking a Full-Day Kindergarten Teacher starting in the 2026‑2027 school year. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and are supported to reach their potential.

New educators are required to attend a two‑day new staff orientation on dates still to be determined. The first contractual day for North Reading Public School educators is September 1, 2026.

• Unit/lesson planning
• Direct instruction of students
• Assessment of student learning and student report cards
• Be available to conference with parents/guardians and families as needed
• Work closely with the Kindergarten team to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained
• Other duties as requested by the Building Principal or their designee

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field;
  Master’s Degree preferred
• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Early Childhood, grades PreK‑2
• Experience with Fundations
• Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to implement good behavior management skills with students
• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
