Job Description

TheL.D.Batchelder Elementary School has an anticipated opening for a Grade 2 Long-Term Substitute Teacher tentatively from September 2026 through

January 2027. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.

Essential duties

  • Unit/lesson planning
  • Direct instruction of students
  • Assessment of student learning
  • Be available to conference with parents/guardians and families as needed or requested
  • Work closely with our Grade 4 team to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained
  • Other duties as requested by the Building Principal or their Designee

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Elementary, Grades 1-6
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative working demeanor
