About the Role
Amazon Robotics is revolutionizing warehouse automation at unprecedented scale. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Mobile Manipulation team, where you'll architect and build next-generation robotic systems that seamlessly combine autonomous navigation with sophisticated manipulation capabilities.

This role offers the unique opportunity to solve complex technical challenges while directly impacting Amazon's global fulfillment network.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer in Mobile Manipulation, you'll own critical components of our robotic systems that enable robots to navigate dynamic warehouse environments while performing complex manipulation tasks. You'll work at the intersection of motion planning, perception, and control systems to create adaptable automation solutions that work safely alongside associates.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement robust motion planning algorithms for collision-free navigation and manipulation using industry-standard frameworks (Move It, OMPL)
- Develop vision-guided manipulation systems integrating object detection, pose estimation, and real-time scene understanding
- Architect high-level behavior management systems using Behavior Trees or Finite State Machines to orchestrate complex multi-step workflows
- Build and maintain simulation environments for rapid prototyping and validation before hardware deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and robotics scientists to integrate software with sensors (LiDAR, cameras, depth sensors) and actuators
- Drive technical decisions on system architecture, algorithm selection, and software design patterns
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team technical standards and best practices

A day in the life
Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment.
