Job Description & How to Apply Below
#Eng-IT-01 We are seeking three Manufacturing Engineers to join our team. In this role, you will work in a prototype-to-early-production environment, collaborating directly with mechanical, electrical, and software teams on developing hardware. This position requires comfort with ambiguity, incomplete drawings, and iterative design changes.
Responsibilities- Prototype Assembly & Build Execution — Perform hands‑on assembly, integration, and testing of complex electromechanical sub‑assemblies and full systems in a prototype/low-volume production environment.
- Process Development — Develop, document, and refine manufacturing processes, work instructions, and build procedures for new product introductions.
- Fixturing & Tooling — Design and specify assembly fixtures, jigs, and tooling to support repeatable, efficient builds.
- Issue Resolution — Lead root‑cause analysis on build quality escapes and drive corrective actions with cross‑functional engineering teams.
- Build Readiness — Manage material kitting, station setup, and build‑sequence planning for upcoming prototype batches.
- Documentation — Maintain accurate as‑built records, redlines, and revision control of assembly documentation.
- ESD & Clean Room Compliance — Adhere to and enforce ESD‑safe handling protocols and clean/controlled environment procedures throughout the build process.
- Continuous Improvement — Identify and implement cycle time reductions, ergonomic improvements, and quality enhancements on the production floor.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent).
- 3–5 years of hands‑on manufacturing engineering experience.
- Direct experience with electromechanical assemblies (motors, gearboxes, actuators, sensors, wiring harnesses).
- Working knowledge of torque specifications, torque‑critical fastening, and calibrated tool usage.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings (GD&T).
- Familiarity with ESD‑safe practices and clean room/controlled manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience in a prototype or new product introduction (NPI) environment.
- 8 years of experience in electromechanical assemblies and prototype environments.
- Experience with torque‑critical fastening, precision alignment, and calibration procedures.
- Proficiency in Solid Works or equivalent CAD software for fixture design and build‑sequence visualization.
- Knowledge of electronics, PCB handling, and connector/harness integration.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, statistical process control, and IPC standards.
- Prior experience supporting builds in robotics, aerospace, defense, medical device, or similar precision industries.
Located in North Reading MA, this position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where innovation and precision are key. Join us in advancing cutting‑edge technologies and shaping the future of manufacturing.
