Mechanical Engineer II (Robotic Hardware Test & Validation)

Duration: 6 Months (Possibility of Extension/Conversion)
Pay Range: $40 – 45/Hr
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an outstanding Mechanical Engineer II with strong hands-on engineering skills to support the development and validation of robotic hardware, primarily focused on end effectors.
This role will focus on test fixture design and fabrication, test planning and execution of robotic subsystems.
The ideal candidate has a solid mechanical engineering foundation suited for prototype-driven development, is comfortable working in a lab environment, has demonstrated experience designing and building test fixtures, and is able to work independently with minimal supervision.
About the TeamThe team develops and validates robotic hardware in a prototype-driven, lab-based environment.
Key work centers on test fixture design and fabrication, and test planning and execution for robotic subsystems (end effectors in particular).
Required Skills- BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong proficiency in Solid Works for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, building, and modifying test fixtures and rigs
- Experience with pneumatic systems
- Strong communication, documentation, and data reporting skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret test data to identify trends, failure modes, and design improvements
- Experience with rapid prototyping methods, including 3D printing, machining, and off-the-shelf components
- Experience with environmental testing
- Experience using engineering project and task management tools (JIRA, Asana, or similar)
- Design and fabricate test fixtures and rigs
- Build pneumatic circuits
- Plan and execute tests on robotic subsystems
- Create Solid Works 3D models and 2D drawings
- Document and report test data
- Analyze results to identify trends, failure modes, and design improvements.
- Solid Works proficiency for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation
- Hands-on design, build, and modification of test fixtures and rigs
- Experience with pneumatic systems, including building pneumatic circuits
- Experience with environmental testing
- Rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining, off-the-shelf component)
- Engineering project/task management tools (JIRA, Asana, or similar); ability to analyze/interpret test data
