Position: Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal Modeling and Simulation Engineer (Compute Test, North Reading)

Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Teradyne's Device Configuration (DC) Hardware Group in North Reading, Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal Modeling and Simulation Engineer to help develop next-generation high-power and precision Automated Test Equipment (ATE) instrumentation modules. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical impact, focused on simulation-driven development, architecture exploration, and silicon-to-system correlation. The engineer will partner closely with instrument architects, project leaders, ASIC vendors, and cross-functional hardware teams to define and deliver world-class instrumentation solutions used by leading semiconductor customers.

Develop, maintain, and validate mixed-signal simulation environments used to define and optimize high-power and precision instrumentation modules. Build detailed behavioral, transistor-level, and system-level models to evaluate architecture trade-offs and guide instrument development decisions. Collaborate with project leads and cross-functional engineering teams to define instrument architectures through simulation-driven analysis and performance prediction. Partner with semiconductor suppliers to define requirements and specifications for custom ASICs and evaluate third-party components for instrument applications.

Correlate simulation results with silicon, board-level, and system measurements, identifying model gaps and driving continuous improvement of predictive accuracy. Support device model validation, characterization analysis, Monte Carlo studies, sensitivity analysis, and performance verification across operating conditions. Build and sustain regression automation frameworks that improve simulation efficiency, repeatability, and design quality. Collaborate with hardware design, validation, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful integration of ASICs and other key components into instrument-level designs.

Provide technical leadership through deep expertise in modeling and simulation while influencing design decisions across multiple development programs.

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience in analog and mixed-signal hardware development, modeling, and simulation. Deep expertise with analog and mixed-signal simulation tools, including SPICE, Spectre, or equivalent simulation environments. Strong experience developing simulation methodologies, behavioral models, and validation flows for complex electronic systems. Proven experience performing Monte Carlo analysis, statistical verification, corner analysis, and device model validation.

Experience correlating simulation results to measured silicon, PCB, and system-level performance. Strong understanding of analog circuit behavior, precision measurement techniques, signal integrity, power delivery, and mixed-signal system interactions. Experience developing simulation automation, scripting, and regression frameworks using languages such as Python, MATLAB, SKILL, or similar tools. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with external semiconductor vendors and component suppliers to define requirements and evaluate technology solutions.

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across multidisciplinary teams. Preferred experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE), electronic instrumentation, semiconductor test, or precision measurement systems. Preferred experience supporting the development of custom ASIC-based instrumentation products.
