The Client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Buyer I to join its Supply Chain team in North Reading, MA. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials and components are available to support operations by managing procurement activities, supplier relationships, inventory planning, and supply chain risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities- Purchase materials and equipment from suppliers, including electronic components, electro-mechanical assemblies, PCB assemblies, hardware, and non-inventory items.
- Manage supplier relationships and track supplier performance metrics (KPIs).
- Support monthly scorecards and quarterly business reviews through procurement reporting and data analysis.
- Plan material requirements and manage inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain and update schedules within ERP systems while communicating requirements to suppliers.
- Monitor material flow and identify potential supply chain risks and shortages.
- Collaborate with Planning and Operations teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage open purchase orders, delivery schedules, and expedite critical shipments when necessary.
- Support Global Commodity Management initiatives and supplier development programs.
- Resolve purchase order discrepancies and assist with invoice reconciliation.
- Process supplier returns, non-conformance reports, return material authorizations (RMAs), and MRB material.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Materials Planning, or Operations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Knowledge of inventory planning and supplier management.
- Experience analyzing procurement or supply chain data.
- Familiarity with databases and data management tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Access and PowerPoint.
