Quality Assurance Technician I
Motion Recruitment is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician I to support a cutting-edge manufacturing and assembly environment focused on advanced robotic systems and automation technologies. This role is ideal for candidates with experience inspecting mechanical and electromechanical assemblies who thrive in a fast-paced production setting and are passionate about maintaining high-quality standards. Contract Duration: 6 – 9 Months
Required
Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Experience performing mechanical and electromechanical assembly inspections.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
- Hands-on experience using measurement and inspection tools such as:
Calipers, Micrometers, Torque wrenches, and/or Optical inspection equipment - Experience with NCR documentation and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Desired
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of robotic subsystems including gantries, End-of-Arm Tooling (EoAT), vision systems, camera modules, and actuators.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management standards.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with CAPA processes and root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone.
What You Will Be Doing:
Daily Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of robotic assemblies, mechanical components, electronic assemblies, and packaging.
- Execute dimensional, functional, and visual inspections using calibrated measurement equipment including calipers, gauges, torque wrenches, micrometers, and customized measurement devices.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and validate assemblies against engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions.
- Follow and enforce Control Plans, QC Work Instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Verify proper assembly of robotic subsystems including gantries, actuators, sensors, camera modules, and related components.
