Support Engineer

Requirements

• Detailed understanding of core machining principles, CNC hardware, CAM software troubleshooting, and machine operation.
• Hands‑on experience programming and running CNC mills or mill‑turn machining centers in a precision manufacturing setting.
• Practical experience with CAM platforms such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, or Hyper Mill for toolpath creation.
• Basic proficiency with Solid Works, NX, or similar CAD tools for reviewing and interpreting 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of fixture and work holding design, preferably custom jigs and fixtures at the fabrication level.
• Strong grasp of machining fundamentals, including feeds and speeds, tool selection, GD&T, and surface finish standards.
• Self‑driven with the ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
• Customer‑focused, proactive, and motivated in day‑to‑day work.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• More than 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, operate, and maintain CNC mills and mill‑turn machining centers.
• Use CAM software and related systems to support machining workflows.
• Produce precision components on time for prototyping, production runs, and engineering deliverables.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to support reliable operations.

Company:

We are hiring a Support Engineer I for a 12‑month assignment with the possibility of extension or conversion in North Reading, MA. This role offers an hourly pay range of $23.81 to $25.81 and focuses on precision machining support in a manufacturing environment.
