Quality Assurance Tech - Quality Assurance Tech II

Compensation: $37 - $47 Hourly
Role Overview
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Tech II who is a technically strong, hands-on person capable of working independently. This individual will support robotics hardware validation, including hands-on test execution, debugging software error logs, maintaining electromechanical systems, and ensuring test infrastructure is operational. The role requires operating effectively in ambiguous environments where established test plans may not yet exist.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute hands-on hardware validation tests on robotic systems.
- Develop and refine test approaches as the program matures.
- Debug software error logs and troubleshoot hardware and software interface issues independently.
- Maintain electromechanical systems, including routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and component-level repairs.
- Ensure test infrastructure is operational, including robotic platforms, sensors, actuators, and controllers.
- Interface with software tools to configure test environments and initiate test runs.
- Interpret test results, identify anomalies, and document findings.
- Escalate issues to engineering and science teams with clear documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis on hardware failures and system faults.
- Support system bring-up, integration testing, and commissioning of new robotic hardware.
- Maintain lab organization, tool calibration, and equipment inventory.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Automation engineers to resolve system-level issues.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
Experience:
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in hardware testing, electromechanical systems maintenance, or robotics operations is required. This includes hands-on experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems such as motors, actuators, sensors, and controllers.
Technical
Skills:
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret software error logs, system diagnostics, and technical documentation. Proficiency with basic hand tools, electronic test equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software is necessary.
