Amazon Robotics Autonomous Mobility Team
The Amazon Robotics Autonomous Mobility team develops software that powers Proteus, Amazon Robotics' first fully-autonomous mobile warehouse robot. We are growing and seek a talented, enthusiastic, and motivated software development engineer to join our Fleet Management team in North Reading, MA. As an engineer on the Fleet Management team, you are a key member of a diverse, collaborative team of engineers who deliver highly scalable robotic systems.
You will support and lead the design and development of services which allocate and assign tasks to a fleet of autonomous vehicles, and track the state of resources associated with such fleets. Our team's software paves the way for integration of autonomous vehicles in the Amazon fulfillment network.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Architect, design, and implement robotic applications and infrastructure.
- Influence the team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap.
- Work with stakeholders across the organization to iterate on design and implementation.
- Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Prototype and test concepts or features, both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment.
- Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback.
- Mentor other engineers on the team.

About the team
The Autonomous Mobility Software group is a multi-disciplinary team of collaborative Applied Scientists and Software Engineers with expertise in fleet orchestration, highly scalable distributed systems, computer vision, SLAM, motion planning and controls. Our mission is to deliver autonomous navigation software that utilizes state-of-the-art sensor technologies and algorithms to enable safe and efficient operation of autonomous mobile robots throughout the Amazon fulfillment and transportation network.
We take this mission seriously and work hard to achieve it, but we have a lot of fun along the way. After all, what's more fun than building robots?
