The purpose of this position is to manage and direct the activities of the City's plan review and building inspection services process. This is accomplished by serving as the Chief Building Code Officer, monitoring and directing inspection activities, resolving disputes regarding codes and conducting plan reviews of commercial and residential construction projects. Other duties include conducting inspections, enforcing building codes, enforcing zoning codes, serving as the City's building representative, maintaining and executing functions of the City's permit tracking software, disseminating information to the public and contractors and interacting with other City employees and citizens.
This position provides directions for other employees and reports to the Managing Director of Community Development.

What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree is preferred from an accredited college or university with major course work in building construction, architecture, engineering or other related field.
• Four years of supervisory experience in a municipal building inspection and permitting office.
• State Plumbing Inspector Certification;
Plan Examiner or Energy Code Inspector Certification; I.C.B.O. Building Official Certification.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
