Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Job Overview

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations under guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and focuses on donor eligibility, medical event management, laboratory result review, and safety procedures to ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.

• Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results; notify donors of unsuitable test results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, and refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.
• Provide center‑level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and ensure compliance with Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (LPN or LVN).
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Successfully complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment.

• Competitive hourly wage range of $24.32 - $33.44.
