Job Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports daily plasma center operations. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory results, and collaborating with medical staff to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis.
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, assist in developing Center Physician standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult with Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical or technical issues and communicate unacceptable findings to donors.
- Support HepatitisB and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, and follow EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic; CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
- Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (USA – TX – North Richland Hills).

- Paid sick time up to 80 hours per calendar year; new hires accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation.
