Position Summary

Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates on store tours, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of belonging. Utilize technology, merchandising, and business initiatives to communicate and collaborate at all levels of associates. Provide clear expectations, guidance, and business solutions, and drive company change efforts to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Teach, train, and mentor associates while overseeing daily store operations.
  • Communicate with associates through Tour to Teach, ensuring alignment with store operations, technology, and merchandising.
  • Lead company change initiatives and provide clear guidance for implementing business solutions.
  • Model exceptional customer service using the One Best Way (OBW) model and manage customer service initiatives, including community outreach.
  • Resolve customer complaints, develop action plans to correct deficiencies, and lead process improvement efforts for a high‑quality customer experience.
  • Drive financial performance by reviewing profit & loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Oversee merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes to meet sales and profit goals.
  • Hire, train, and mentor hourly associates; assign duties, recognize achievements, and promote a belonging mindset.
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth.
  • Coordinate job‑related activities, maintain stakeholder relationships, and communicate goals to build accountability and measure progress.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and promote company mission, values, and ethics through relevant action plans and the Open Door Policy.
  • Build high‑performing teams, respect individual differences, attract and retain top talent, and support a culture of continuous learning.
  • Serve customers and members with a customer‑first mindset, applying EDLP and EDLC business models and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Demonstrate integrity by maintaining ethical standards and acting with honesty, fairness, and transparency.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For store locations that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For locations that sell ammunition and meet state requirements, possession of a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Completion of all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ), Complex Structure based on external factors, and a State Pay Differential where applicable.
