Client - Accounting Manager

Description

Corrigan Krause is assisting their client in the search for a permanent Accounting Manager located in North Royalton, Ohio. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, manufacturing industry experience, and a passion for process improvement and technology. This position is both hands‑on and strategic, supporting day‑to‑day accounting while helping drive long‑term operations.

Accounting & Close

• Oversee all general ledger activity, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and review financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and management reporting packages.
• Perform variance, trend, and ad hoc financial analysis to support decision‑making and improve financial performance.

Technology

• Strong affinity for systems, software applications, and process improvement, with the ability to quickly learn, adopt, and optimize new technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Proactive technology user who can become a systems “power user” and internal resource/trainer over time.
• Experience with  (SFDC) and Accounting Seed preferred.

Manufacturing & Operational Finance

• Partner with operations to ensure accurate cost accounting, including inventory, work‑in‑process (WIP), and job costing.
• Analyze production costs, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption to improve gross margins and operational performance.
• Monitor and evaluate margin performance by product line, project, and customer.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, asset protection, and audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Tax & External Coordination

• Oversee tax compliance (income, sales/use, and other filings) in coordination with external advisors.
• Manage relationships with external CPA firms, including financial statement reviews/audits and timely resolution of findings.

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; establish accountability, cross‑training, and team scalability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
• Demonstrated experience with accounting systems and process improvement; ERP implementation or.
• Experience working with web‑based accounting platforms such as Accounting Seed and Salesforce or similar systems.
• Ability to take and pass a background check.

Starting compensation typically ranges from $80k‑$100k, offered as a comprehensive package with opportunity for growth.
