As a Plastics Manufacturing Technician, you'll support manufacturing operations across press setup, quality assurance, precision inspection, and floor coordination. You'll work closely with shift supervisors and operators to ensure smooth production flows, high-quality standards, and continuous process improvements.
What You'll Do- Mold setup, tear-down, and removal on injection molding presses, operating tow motors, and preparing workstation tools, supplies, and packaging materials.
- Performing visual, coating, hardness, and dimensional inspections to verify parts meet internal and customer standards.
- Reading blueprints and operating precision measuring tools like calipers, height gages, micrometers, and CMM equipment.
- Assisting with production workflow, providing break coverage, coaching operators, and coordinating product re-work.
- Logging inspection data, processing material transfers in Epicor ERP, managing non-conforming products and documentation.
- Conducting layered quality audits, supporting FAIR/PPAP activities, and participating in Kaizen/Lean initiatives to reduce waste and scrap.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 1–3+ years of experience in plastic injection molding, machining, or contract manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision metrology tools is a plus.
- Mechanical inclination, with experience in mold setup/removal, fluid power, or hydraulic systems preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, statistical software, and Microsoft Office a plus.
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and multitasking skills.
- Physical ability to lift 40–50 lbs periodically, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive manual tasks.
