- Current Rhode Island Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education (as a 1st‑Grade teacher)
- Certification as Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, or Secondary School Teacher, as appropriate
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of an associate’s degree acceptable for those already holding certification
- Citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa required
- Standard 1: Create learning experiences using a broad base of general knowledge that reflects an understanding of the nature of the communities and world in which we live.
