Paraprofessional Position
School Hours | Monday – Friday | Pay: $21 - $23 an hour

Supplemental Healthcare is hiring Paraprofessionals to join our team and work alongside teachers at partnering school districts to help students with special needs succeed - academically, socially, and emotionally.
Every day, you'll play a key role in creating a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels safe, capable, and valued.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma AND Completion of a Teacher Assistant Pre-Employment Training Program approved by the RI Department of Education (RIDE). Three (3) exceptions to this particular qualification:
- Those hired before January 1, 1999
- Those with certification as a TA in another state,
- Those with an associates degree or bachelors degree AND who have completed coursework or other training consistent with the teacher assistant program standards. It is a district's decision whether coursework or other training is consistent with the teacher assistant program standards.
AND Meet one (1) of the following requirements:
- -Successfully pass the Para Pro Assessment. OR
- -Complete at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education OR
-Obtain an associates or higher degree."
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
- Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
- Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
Contract Details:
- Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
- Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
- Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
- Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
- Teaming up with teachers, therapists, and staff to make school a great place to be
- Celebrating small victories every single day
- Willingness to assist with physical or behavioral needs as required
