Your Day at Lowe'sSales Specialists are active, moving throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and talking to customers. You'll spend most of your time communicating with customers—discussing project needs, answering questions, and helping them achieve home improvement goals. You'll become the product expert, informing customers of specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close a sale. Your consulting services help ensure customer needs are met before leaving the store.
You will work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.
- Provide SMART customer service by understanding customer needs, communicating the advantages of Lowe's products and services, and guiding decisions.
- Act as a point of contact for customers and vendors within your department, providing project estimates, scheduling installer visits, processing and tracking orders/installations, and following up to ensure project completion.
- If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
- Monitor inventory levels to support sales, coordinating with vendors and other stores to find merchandise and order replacement stock.
- Perform price reviews in line with pricing policies and maintain pricing and documentation.
- Support all checkout functions and respond to requests for assistance.
- Train associates in the department through on-the-job training and coaching.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowe's retail experience, or 3 years of external customer-facing sales (18 months Lowe's retail if education requirement is not met)
- 1 year of sales or customer service experience with required goals or metrics
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods
- Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or more with accommodation
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state (Lowe's will support and fund this)
- 1 year of experience completing customer sales orders
- Experience promoting product-related services (installation, delivery, financing, extended protection plans)
- 2 years designing customized products using 20/20 or CAD software
- Professional certification related to the department
- Bi-lingual skills

Travel RequirementsThis role does not require regular travel; occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or supporting neighboring stores.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location. You may work indoors or outdoors in varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet or humid conditions. Noise and moving equipment are possible. Lifting limitations: single lifts up to 75 pounds; team lifts are used as needed. Powered equipment should be used with proper training or assistance.
