Assistant Residential Director – $23/Hr, $2500 sign‑on bonus.
OverviewThis Assistant Residential Director provides day‑to‑day services to program participants, facilitates on‑site training and supervision of staff, manages participants’ funds and operational budgets, and supports the planning and scheduling of staff and participants’ social activities. The role promotes compliance with medication management and day program protocols, provides leadership in the absence of the Residential Director, and ensures accurate documentation within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Direct Care – Provide direct support services to participants for at least 32 hours per week, modeling appropriate strategies to staff and offering ongoing learning opportunities.
- Respect and Dignity – Ensure that all individuals are treated with respect, dignity, and support to maintain control over routine activities.
- Skill Development – Teach, assist, and support individuals in the community and at home to master skills that enhance their social roles.
- Social Integration – Support existing relationships and expand networks of friends and acquaintances for participants.
- Household Assistance – Assist with household shopping and maintenance to increase participants’ control and responsibilities.
- Supervise staff directly and serve as a team leader.
- Model and coach staff through role‑modeling and constructive feedback.
- Facilitate innovative problem‑solving, particularly in the absence of the Residential Director.
- Promote teamwork via open professional communication and positive collaboration.
- Ensure transportation for clients using agency or staff vehicles as needed.
- Implement ISP/Support Plans and strategies as written and at the stated frequency.
- Collect and maintain accurate data and program books.
- Review data monthly and prepare progress notes quarterly or as required.
- Attend ISP meetings and model all routines, including behavioral, nursing, and therapeutic treatment plans.
- Train staff in intervention strategies and correct data collection procedures.
- Respond effectively to potential safety hazards and emergencies.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
- Contact supervisors as needed during concerns or crises.
- Model therapeutically appropriate support strategies.
- Assist in managing participants’ funds and operational budgets.
- Participate in Incident Review processes as assigned.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reconciliation of billable services.
- Plan and schedule staff, maintain staffing budgets, and monitor services.
- Ensure compliance with Rhode Island/Seven Hills policies, licensing regulations, union contracts, and other program requirements.
- Participate in on‑call responsibilities and maintain staff certification records.
- Prior direct care experience strongly preferred.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency.
- Effective verbal, non‑verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
- Basic budgeting and mathematical skills.
- Proven tact, good judgment, and initiative in interactions with participants, peers, family members, the public, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree preferred;
High School diploma or equivalency required. - Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
