Position:Freedom School Specialist
Work Schedule:5-10 hours per week
Start Date:Immediately
Pay:$35/hous

The Freedom Schools Specialist provides year-round planning, coordination, and organizational support for the district's CDF Freedom Schools program. The position is responsible for developing the systems, timelines, partnerships, staffing processes, communications, resources, and logistics necessary for successful summer programming.

Working closely with the Freedom Schools Executive Director and program leadership team, the Specialist ensures that program planning is completed proactively, efficiently, and in alignment with CDF Freedom Schools expectations and district priorities.

• Develop and maintain the annual Freedom Schools implementation plan and planning calendar.
• Establish timelines, benchmarks, and deadlines for all major components of summer programming.
• Create schedules, checklists, planning documents, and other organizational tools for program leadership.
• Anticipate program needs and proactively identify solutions to potential barriers.
• Coordinate planning for the annual Freedom Schools Finale and other major program events.
• Develop and manage the annual recruitment and hiring timeline for Freedom Schools staff.
• Coordinate job postings, recruitment efforts, interviews, selection processes, and onboarding.
• Coordinate local training and required CDF training for Site Coordinators, Servant Leader Interns, student interns, and other program staff.
• Coordinate recruitment and outreach to district schools and families.
• Assist with leading student interns in the program.

• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to develop efficient systems and processes.

• Bachelor's degree in education, educational leadership, youth development, communications, project management, community engagement, or a related field
• Experience as a Project Director for Freedom Schools
• Experience as a Servant Leader Intern for Freedom Schools
• Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with diverse students, families, staff, and communities
