Nutrition Services Assistant - Carver- Long

Position Overview

Position: Nutrition Services Assistant (5 3/4 hours per day)
Location: Carver Elementary School
Schedule: 9 months, 5 days per week
Salary & Benefits: Per Nutrition Services labor agreement (district website).

• Assist in preparing and serving school meals.
• Maintain Nutrition Services policies, including sanitation and safety standards.
• Function as cashier as assigned.
• Enter temperatures on temperature sheets and record food used on the pick list.
• Provide assistance to the Kitchen Manager as requested.
• Assist in cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, cleaning spills, taking inventory, and other duties as assigned.

• Good organizational and mathematical skills.
• Ability to follow direction.
• Pleasant personality.
• Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents.
• Ability to work with computers or willingness to learn.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attain certification with School Nutrition Association within one year of employment.
• Cashiering ability.

• Pass background check and physical examination.
• Good physical health, including ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Constant hand‑eye and mind‑eye coordination, standing, and walking.
• Repetitive motion with wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting, and stooping.
• Occasional climbing and crawling.
• Standing for long periods, stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and climbing.
