Successful Candidate

The ideal candidates will be either a new or experienced foster carer who wants to make sure that our children receive the best possible care. Training and development opportunities are consistent throughout your time with us and you will be supported throughout your time with us.

Becoming a foster carer is a big decision and it needs to feel like the right choice. We understand that you may be wondering if becoming a foster carer is right for you or if you can financially afford the commitment. To ensure you can make an informed decision, have a look at our generous and competitive support package that is available:

Foster Carer Pay (per week):
  • Band 1 – Pre Accredited - £0
  • Band 2 – Accredited Carer - £220.00
  • Band 3 – Advanced Carer - £380.00
  • Band 4 – Specialist Carer - £550
Additional Premiums – per child (per week)
  • Siblings (2nd, 3rd & 4th child only) - £75.00
  • Disability - £50.00
  • Mother and Baby (other mother CiC) - £90.00
  • Out of Hours care arrangement starting - £50.00 (one off)

Fees are paid 52 weeks per year and are payable for the first two weeks of any holiday taken without a child in care.

Fostering Allowance (per week):
  • 0-4 yrs old - £175.95
  • 5-10 yrs old - £193.55
  • 11-15 yrs old -£220.46
  • To Carer for 16+ - £257.72

The Foster Carer weekly allowance is intended to cover the average costs of looking after a child as part of the Foster Carer’s family. No specified amounts for particular items are given since expenditure will vary from one foster household to another. The fostering allowance is designed to cover the following costs:

  • Food and accommodation (including a contribution towards heating and lighting costs)
  • Clothing
  • Pocket Money
  • Transport usually associated with any child living in a family including to and from a local school and out-of-school activities
  • Leisure activities
  • Keeping a record of events and memories about the child
  • School meals

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
