Job Description

Spear D Construction is seeking a highly organized and motivated Project Manager Assistant to support Project Managers throughout all phases of construction projects - from estimator handoff through final completion. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow their construction project management experience while gaining hands‑on exposure to project planning, scheduling, documentation, procurement, billing, cost tracking, and field coordination.

The Project Manager Assistant will work closely with Project Managers, field teams, vendors, subcontractors, and office staff to help ensure projects stay organized, safe, efficient, and on track.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with project setup, planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Participate in estimator handoff meetings and assist with phase code setup and project tracking.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements.
  • Prepare and track submittals, permits, and project documentation.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of manpower, materials, and project resources.
  • Support procurement and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Maintain communication between field teams and management.
  • Assist with identifying, documenting, and processing change orders.
  • Support monthly billing, pay applications, and invoicing.
  • Track project costs and progress using company systems.
  • Assist with projections and participate in financial meetings.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project files.
  • Assist with redlining plans and updating drawings.
  • Support invoices, work orders, permitting, locates, and other project coordination activities.
  • Perform jobsite visits as directed.
  • Continue developing knowledge of construction practices, company systems, and project management processes.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Help promote a strong safety culture across project teams.
  • Assist with project safety requirements and compliance.
  • Participate in safety meetings and Pre-Task Planning (PTP).
  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Help ensure project work complies with specifications and applicable regulations.
Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software.

$30,000–$85,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
