Temp Parttime Faculty - Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Studies

LLSS is recruiting for part‑time instructors in the following areas:
American Indian Education, Bilingual Education, TESOL Education, Educational Thought and Sociocultural Studies, Literacy and Languages, and Qualitative Research. The successful candidate will teach undergraduates and graduates in LLSS courses related to the department programs and will participate in enhancing the coherence and effectiveness of the teacher preparation programs.

  • LLSS 315 – Educating Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Students
  • LLSS 321 – School and Society
  • LLSS 432 – Teaching of Social Studies
  • LLSS 459/LLSS 559 – Second Language Literacy
  • LLSS 482/581 – Teaching English as a Second Language
  • LLSS 570 – Science and Native American Education
  • LLSS 465/565 – Teaching Navajo in Immersion and Community Settings
  • LLSS 462/562 – Navajo Pedagogy and Community Engagement
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
  • Earned Master’s in education or a closely related field, with evidence of expertise in a specific course or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Earned a doctorate in Education, TESOL, or closely related fields.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching (grades K-12) in public schools in the U.S.
  • Interest or experience in teaching the specific course(s).
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivating an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
