Location

Park Royal Office, West Vancouver - on the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations - Hybrid (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA's flex work policy). Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway in Spring 2027.

About

The Role

As an Administrator on the Payroll Services team, no two days in a row will ever be the same. Our staff rely on the Payroll Administrator to be there to answer questions and provide information.

As the Payroll Administrator you will process payroll and exception time related to leaves, allowances and additional hours for all FNHA employees. You will ensure that all aspects of all payroll cycles are processed in a timely and accurate manner. As well as you will perform bi-weekly audits of employees’ time entry and exception time to ensure accuracy. Additionally, you will support human resources with resolution of issues related to job data, position management, personal data, benefits and leave enrollments.

Education
  • Successful completion of secondary school, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Occupational Certification
  • Successful completion of Canadian Payroll Association PCP certification is an asset
Experience
  • Relevant experience working as a Payroll Administer (usually acquired over a 2-year period)
  • Experience working with BC First Nations organizations in a financial capacity
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with union hourly payroll environment is an asset
  • Experience working with time and attendance systems is an asset
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of payroll theories, practices, legislation, resources and the Employment Standards Act
  • Knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles
  • Knowledge of People Soft HCM (Oracle) Canadian Payroll desired
