The District of Squamish invites applications for the Senior Financial Operations Specialist role to lead the Financial Services Specialist team. This position plays a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards, and enhancing internal controls. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed for this position.

• Guide financial services with strategic and operational direction
• Provide training and best practices for departments
• Prepare and present financial reports to the Council
• Manage the preparation of annual financial statements
• Support the Director of Financial Operations as required

• CPA designation is required
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related field
• Five years of accounting experience in a unionized setting
• Minimum five years in a supervisory capacity
• Effective leadership and analytical skills
