Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Excavator Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing equipment-related tasks to the specifications required and under the direction of your supervisor. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation will play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient operations and protecting equipment, infrastructure, and surrounding property. Duties

Safely operate excavators on a variety of heavy civil construction projects.

Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete required inspection. documentation, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.

Participate in daily safety meetings, FLHAs, and toolbox talks to help maintain a safe work environment.

Work closely with supervisors and crew members to complete work safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Read and interpret grades, drawings, and site plans as required.

Support excavation, utility installation, earthworks, and other civil construction activities.

Maintain accurate daily equipment and labour reporting.

Requirements

Proven experience operating excavators in a construction setting with a strong understanding of heavy equipment functions.

Mechanical knowledge of excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving machinery.

Experience with GPS machine control systems considered an asset.

Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery and attachments is highly desirable.

Ability to operate related equipment such as bulldozers (dozers), graders, loaders, backhoes, horizontal drills, and paving machines.

Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
