Full-Time

Location: Northampton, MA

Pay Range: $27-29/hour

Union Service Net is looking to add a Staff Accountant to our continuously growing finance team. This position will be responsible for month‑end closings of several accounts and handle inter‑company transactions. Analyze specific general ledger accounts, reconcile and provide documentation on a monthly basis. This person will also be expected to ensure all expenses are recorded correctly.

• Reconciliation of various balance sheets and expense accounts; state and non‑governmental billings
• Preparation of cost reimbursement billings and state and local contract billings
• State contracts vouchers as assigned.
• Miscellaneous Balance Sheet reconciliations as assigned.
• Preparation of financial reports and general ledgers.
• Analysis and preparation of budgets.
• Maintaining accounting of leases.
• General bookkeeping performance.
• Evaluate and recommend modifications and growth opportunities for accounting systems and procedures.
• Team builder, supporter, and player with integrity and loyalty.
• Dedication to serving the organization's goals and mission.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by presenting oneself in a professional manner that gets along with clients, customers, co‑workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
• Minimum of two years of work experience in nonprofit, public, or similar accounting/bookkeeping required
• Experience with grant and state contracts (for example DDS, DMH, DPH, etc) preferred
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and experience in Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and V‑Lookups
• Keen attention to detail, ability to work on various projects concurrently, and ability to meet deadlines
