Description

The Department of Film and Media Studies at Smith College invites applications for a one-year, half-time benefit‑eligible position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2026.

  • Introduction to Film and Media Studies (co‑teaching with the department chair) in fall
  • A global media history course (history of film, television, or video games) in spring
  • An advanced research seminar (in the candidate's area of expertise) in spring

Ph.D. in Film and Media Studies or a relevant field is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Film and Media Studies are encouraged to apply.
