Grade 6 Teacher

Lander-Grinspoon Academy, a private school in Northampton, MA, is currently seekinga dynamic, creative and highly motivated full-time 6th grade teacher.

• Plan and deliver lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies
• Plan and oversee graduation
• Staff the "Teva" environmental overnight trip
• Support families in transitioning to 7th grade placements
• Partner with families in regular communication
• Nurture within each student a joyful sense of identity
• Committo implementing our social/emotional curriculum as well asour strong academic program

• Hold a Bachelor's degree
• Have at least 5 years of teaching experience, ideally in 6th grade
• Are enthusiastic about contributing to school-wide initiatives including social justice, our on-site working farm, and creative arts
• Are equally committed to our social/emotional curriculum as to our strong academic program
• Workwell as part of team

• Salary is $45,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience and education

• Teachers have about 2 hours of prep time everyday
• A strong support base! All new teachers are assigned a teacher mentor and meetweekly with a member of the leadership team
