Lander-Grinspoon Academy, a private school in Northampton, MA, is currently seekinga dynamic, creative and highly motivated full-time 6th grade teacher.
What you will do- Plan and deliver lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies
- Plan and oversee graduation
- Staff the "Teva" environmental overnight trip
- Support families in transitioning to 7th grade placements
- Partner with families in regular communication
- Nurture within each student a joyful sense of identity
- Committo implementing our social/emotional curriculum as well asour strong academic program
- Hold a Bachelor's degree
- Have at least 5 years of teaching experience, ideally in 6th grade
- Are enthusiastic about contributing to school-wide initiatives including social justice, our on-site working farm, and creative arts
- Are equally committed to our social/emotional curriculum as to our strong academic program
- Workwell as part of team
- Salary is $45,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience and education

- Teachers have about 2 hours of prep time everyday
- A strong support base! All new teachers are assigned a teacher mentor and meetweekly with a member of the leadership team
- Paid time off for state, federal, and Jewish holidays
- Early release Fridays
