Job Title: 6th Grade Teacher
Knight Vision Education Lander-Grinspoon Academy, a private school in Northampton, MA, is currently seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly motivated full-time 6th grade teacher.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will do
You will teach general studies to 6th grade students every day. Additionally, you will:
- Plan and deliver lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies
- Plan and oversee graduation
- Staff the “Teva” environmental overnight trip
- Support families in transitioning to 7th grade placements
- Partner with families in regular communication
- Nurture within each student a joyful sense of identity
- Commit to implementing our social/emotional curriculum as well as our strong academic program
Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about contributing to school-wide initiatives including social justice, our on‑site working farm, and creative arts. In addition, you:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree
- Have at least 5 years of teaching experience, ideally in 6th grade
- Are enthusiastic about contributing to school-wide initiatives including social justice, our on‑site working farm, and creative arts
- Are equally committed to our social/emotional curriculum as to our strong academic program
- Work well as part of a team
- Salary is $45,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience and education

- Teachers have about 2 hours of prep time everyday
- A strong support base:
All new teachers are assigned a teacher mentor and meet weekly with a member of the leadership team - Paid time off for state, federal, and Jewish holidays
- Early release Fridays
