Lander Grinspoon Academy, an independent Jewish day school serving students in Kindergarten through Grade 6, is hiring a compassionate, collaborative, and skilled Learning Specialist to join our faculty.

The Learning Specialist works closely with students, teachers, families, and school leadership to support the academic success of all learners. This position provides direct intervention services, conducts assessments, collaborates with classroom teachers, and helps implement best practices for supporting diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide small-group and individual academic support for students requiring additional intervention.
  • Conduct benchmark assessments and analyze student performance data.
  • Develop detailed progress reports and communicate student growth with families and teachers.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiated instruction and effective intervention strategies.
  • Participate in parent conferences, student support meetings, and faculty meetings.
  • Contribute to curriculum review and instructional planning as needed.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Support school programs, events, field trips, and other community activities.
  • Complete professional development and participate fully in faculty work weeks and school-wide training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience providing academic intervention and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of assessment practices and data‑driven instruction.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Details
  • Hours: 25 hours per week
  • Salary: $23,000‑$25,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: Sick and personal time, early release Fridays, and time off for national and Jewish holidays; this part‑time position follows our school calendar
