Job description:
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and insurance.
Overview
We're Mosaic Art Studio and we're a fast-growing global startup that has recently expanded to New England. We’re looking for friendly, creative, reliable independent contractors to join our instructor/ facilitator team. This opportunity is ideal for self-employed artists, teaching artists, instructors, and creatives who enjoy working with people and guiding them through hands-on art experiences.
Duties
- Lead 2.5 hour mosaic lamp workshops for the public twice a day
- Guide participants step-by-step with patience and professionalism.
- Represent our brand with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Travel to pop-up workshop locations in Western and Central Massachusetts.
- Prepare necessary materials, supplies, and equipment for each session
- Guide participants through artistic techniques, concepts, and project completion
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment that encourages creative expression
- Assess participant progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio or workshop space
Experience
- Prior experience teaching or facilitating art workshops or classes is preferred but not required.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs and skill levels
- Passion for fostering creativity and promoting the arts within the community
Requirements
Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable transporting workshop materials (push cart + mobile units provided)
- English required;
Additional languages are a plus. - Typical commitment: 2–4 Saturdays per month (varies based on bookings).
- Punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to manage groups of 15–20 participants confidently.

9:30am–6pm (includes setup, two workshops, cleanup).
