The Department of Philosophy at Smith College invites applications for an open-rank position, to begin July 1, 2027. Successful candidates should be prepared to engage actively with diverse students across the liberal arts. The teaching load is four courses across two semesters. AOS:
Philosophy of language or philosophy of mind. AOC:
Open, but teaching competence in logic or a non-Western philosophical tradition is desirable. Ph.D. in Philosophy by the time of appointment is required. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Philosophy are encouraged to apply.
