Where will you be working? At M Group Energy we enable the essential energy to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role is within our Transmission and Renewables team in Wales and South West England. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV.
Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.
Responsibilities- Set out civil works: RC foundations, drainage, ducting, earthworks, roads, and fencing.
- Support site and project managers in meeting key design and build milestones.
- Review and advise on Temporary Works; assist TWC/TWS throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare handover documents, H&S files, and inspection plans.
- Resolve on-site design issues and manage change control (TQs/RFIs).
- Coordinate as-built drawings and ensure timely client submission.
- Attend design/coordination meetings and support tender planning.
- 3+ years of experience in surveying and setting out.
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Experience in electrical transmission/distribution preferred.
- CSCS card and full UK driving licence required.
- Familiar with NG Transmission Procedures and BS 5975 Temporary Works.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident with Microsoft Office, databases, and CAD.
- Good understanding of technical specifications and supplier requirements.
