About the role
We have an opportunity within Obelisk House, which provides exceptional levels of support to older persons living with dementia, physical disabilities or sensory impairments. Situated in a residential suburb in Northampton, the facility offers a wonderful living environment for residents to enjoy an enhanced quality of life.
What will you be doing?- Work closely alongside the management and support team, running shifts on a 12‑hour or 8‑hour rota with alternate weekend working.
- Manage a team of staff, taking responsibility for induction training, continuous development and performance.
- Prioritise and direct the workload to team members, ensuring any issues are dealt with promptly and the health, safety and welfare of customers and employees are protected.
- Assist the management team by recording and updating care plans so changes in customers’ needs can be supported appropriately.
- Order, monitor and administer medication to customers, ensuring prescribed drugs are used safely.
- Provide practical, personal and emotional care and support to WNC customers with a range of health and social care needs.
- Support customers to maintain or develop social networks and interests, organising or participating in activities of their choice.
- Demonstrate sensitivity, discretion and awareness of data protection in all verbal and written information.
- Show awareness of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
- Previous experience in care leadership, a senior carer or shift lead role.
- Ideal NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care.
- Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and relevant legislation.
- Experience delivering high‑quality care and support to residents.
- A commitment to safeguarding, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS and Children and Adults Barred List check.
