Home Care- Heath Aide

Site: VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson, Inc.

Responsible for helping patients with personal hygiene, minor medical needs, housekeeping, and other daily needs as required by the patient.

• Helps patients with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and other daily tasks.
• Performs basic health care services for patients, including checking vital signs or administering prescription medication.
• Helps with general light housekeeping.
• Makes transportation arrangements as needed.
• Observes and reports on patient’s condition.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• No experience in lieu of a degree.
• Licenses and Credentials:
  Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver’s License (Mass License) and Certified Home Health Aide – Required.
• Experience:
  
  Clinical/Hospital/Managed Care Office Experience 1-2 years preferred or Patient Care Experience 0-1 year preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledgeable in-patient care practices including personal care, homemaking, and basic health care services.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Have good personal hygiene.
  • Able to do light housekeeping.
  • Good communication skills both written and oral.
