Production Floater

Location: Northampton, MA (175 Industrial Drive)
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour (W-2)
Schedule:

  • 1st shift preferred (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 30-minute lunch)
  • 2nd and 3rd shift candidates will also be considered
Position Overview

Seeking reliable and detail-oriented Production Floaters to support manufacturing operations within its Ceramics division. This role involves hands-on production work from raw materials through finished goods, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work safely at all times while following company safety policies and procedures

  • Support end-to-end production processes including mixing, extrusion, drying, cutting, and firing

  • Produce various rod types according to production schedules set by the Production Coordinator

  • Balance multiple production steps efficiently to meet customer demand and quality standards

  • Track and manage raw materials, consumables, and in-process inventory

  • Collaborate with Process Engineering and Management to troubleshoot quality or production issues

  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately

  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and clean-out of production equipment

  • Adjust processing parameters to meet final product specifications

  • Properly store raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods

  • Operate forklifts to move pallets, raw materials, and totes (as needed)

  • Occasionally work at elevated heights using ladders or platforms

  • Pack finished goods for shipment and assist with loading/unloading trucks

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and equipment

Qualifications
  • GED or High School Diploma preferred

  • Manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus

  • Forklift experience preferred (not required)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills

  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, push, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted

Additional Information
  • Shift Preference: 1st shift preferred; 2nd and 3rd shifts also welcome

  • Overtime: As required based on production needs

  • Work Environment: Manufacturing / industrial setting
